March 2026 Fox Hunt
A reminder that there will NOT be a Fox Hunt this March due to the advent of the Loomis HAMFest on the last Saturday of the month. One could say the Fox Hunt this month will be finding the best deal on HAM equipment at the HAMFest!
The next Fox Hunt will be the last Saturday of April immediately following the monthly Club breakfast. Our Fox Tender for April will be Matt KO6IMP. Thank you Matt!
See you all in Loomis.

March 2026 Program
HamFest 2026 Approaches!
The focus of our March meeting will be the upcoming HamFest 2026, to be held March 28th at the Historic Loomis Train Station in Loomis, California. Event chair Frank KG9M will cover the high level event logistics, and introduce the team of folks leading the various functions that make the event happen. They will review what’s going on in their area, talk about why their particular area is the most exciting way to participate, and list ways you can contribute. A brief Q&A will be held after the presentations to answer any questions you may have.
Celebrating it’s 10 year anniversary, the Loomis HamFest is the region’s first of the year, and an event of this magnitude takes the talents and simple participation of many to pull it off. Check out the link on the website’s Events page to register for where you can help. https://www.w6ek.org/support?contact=hamfest
Besides the day-of participation in the event, we’re also looking for folks to help off-load the large inventory of donated equipment on Friday at 5pm. It’s a great way to help, and you get a first look (and a great deal) at the goodies! Sign up as above.
Greg KO6TH and Jim WA8MPA
Watts Up This Week
It may not be happening this week (or next) but we’re REALLY starting to get excited about Hamfest 2026. This is the club’s biggest fundraiser year after year and this year, we’re celebrating our 10 year anniversary!!
New or old to SFARC? We’re in desperate need of more help. Last year it took over 60 volunteers to make it happen — consider going to https://hamfest.w6ek.org , click Volunteer / Help / Contact Us.
If you’re not available on the day of the event, you can still help!!! Make a QST on any of the nets you attend. VHF, HF, it doesn’t matter, people come from hundreds of miles to attend.
We even have a simple script on the website @ https://www.w6ek.org/activities/hamfest/qstscript
We have another planning meeting coming up THIS THURSDAY (02/19) ON ZOOM @ 6PM, we’d love to see you there.
SFARC EXTRA CLASS GOTA LAB — THIS SATURDAY (02/21)
