We’ve had a bit of a lapse on the weekly “watts up” emails due to some summer travel, but we’re back and we’ve got a few updates for this week.

Dr. Ed Fong (WB6IQN) is giving a presentation on how you can build a tri-band 144/220/430 MHz antenna for your VHF and UHF operations. Come join us on Zoom at 7:30 PM on July 30th with plenty of questions and get inspired!

CAMPOUT UPDATE
The SFARC Fall Campout is a little over 6 weeks away. According to our records, campsites 211 and 216 in our base camp loop are still available. Several campsites are also available on the adjacent loop, just a two-minute walk away.

THAT’S A WRAP, FIELD DAY 2025 UPDATE Preliminary numbers are in! With 130+ attendees visiting Georgetown Airport over the weekend making 1,428 contacts across 12 countries, we had ourselves a GREAT Field Day 2025. A big shout out to the setup and cleanup crew (pictured below) who worked hard to make sure everyone had a good time. Thanks to each and every one of you for making the 2025 SFARC Field Day weekend a HUGE success. Club results will be posted once finalized. SFARC FALL CAMPOUT UPDATE September is fast approaching the SFARC Fall Campout planning is underway! We’ve got some updates for this week and coming weekend.
If you’re looking for something to do on Saturday, join SFARC for some breakfast at Mel’s in Auburn. The fun starts at 0730 but make sure to arrive early for best seating. Following breakfast, we’re going on a hunt.
FOX HUNT THIS SATURDAY The fox transmitter will be hidden within the greater Auburn area. The transmitter may or may not be able to be heard from Mel’s Diner. The fox transmitter and clipboard will be easily accessible from the roadway or parking lot. Sign and time stamp the log when located. The transmitter on 146.565 MHz will be activated 0930 and turned off at 1100. The Fox Tender, AI6US – Brian will announce when the fox transmitter is active and can be contacted during the hunt via the W6EK 2 meter repeater. FIELD DAY 2025 UPDATE The planning for Field Day 2025 is well underway and nearly complete. Field Day t-Shirts will be available for purchase soon at w6ek.org.
