In preparation for the clubs renewal season, we’ve got a BIG giveaway for the club meeting. We’re giving away a Yaesu FT-70D and entering to win is BEYOND EASY!!! We’ve got another fun week ahead of us with a breakfast, a fox hunt, and a meeting right around the corner.
 
CLUB BREAKFAST – THIS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 30TH
Join the club this Saturday at 0730 for breakfast at Mel’s in Auburn. Come early or sit at the kids table. 🙂
 
FOX HUNT – THIS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 30TH
After the club breakfast at Mel’s we’re going to go out and hunt some foxes! We’ll be firing up a 1-watt “Baofox” on 146.565 Mhz at 0930. Our fox hunts are family and pet friendly, anyone can participate, and no license is required! If you’ve never done a fox hunt before, rusty, or if you don’t have radio direction finder equipment, ask to ride along with an experienced fox hunter. LINCOLN HAMFEST – THIS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16TH
The Lincoln Hamfest is sponsored by the Western Placer Amateur Radio Club. If you’re interested in becoming a seller, join WPARC in the bandstand parking lot of McBean Park, 65 McBean Park Drive (Highway 193) in Lincoln @ 0600 with a crisp $10 bill. CELEBRATION OF LIFE FOR GEORGE (KG6LSB), THIS SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 17TH
George Simmons (KG6LSB) was a beloved club member and friend of SFARC. Earlier this year, George became a silent key. A celebration of life will be at 10 AM on September 17 at VFW Hall at 100 East Street in Auburn. Everyone is welcome! All are invited to stay for the old-fashioned VFW Pancake Breakfast brunch prepared by VFW 904. If you can stay for the breakfast, please RSVP @ https://rsvp.w6ek.org/

Happy Labor Day!
We’ve got a lot coming up this week!

SFARC BOARD MEETING

Coming up on Thursday in the club Zoom room, we have the SFARC board meeting.  Its an excellent opportunity to see behind the curtain of how the board runs the club, all are welcome. That’s this Thursday, September 7th @ 6PM PT.
 
GENERAL CLUB MEETING
This Friday (September 8th) at 7:30 PM PT we have another SFARC general club meeting. This month we’re meeting in the main lobby of the church so make sure to enter through the main parking lot, not the dairy road entrance. Two presentations are scheduled for the evening with Jim (WA8MPA) presenting “Everything You Need to Know About Capacitors” and Don (WB6LPJ) presenting; “How to Build a Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery from Individual Components”. If you can’t make it in person, join us in the club Zoom room starting at 7PM PT.
 
GENERAL CLASS GOTA
Join the SFARC General license class as an Elmer this coming Saturday (September 9th). HAMS IN THE HILLS
This Saturday (September 9th) the Hams In The Hills group will be back at it again.
