*OBJECTIVE:*
Stations outside of California work as many California stations in as many CA Counties as possible.
Stations inside California work everyone. Non-CA to non-CA contacts do not count for QSO credit.

*EXCHANGE:*
1. California stations send QSO number and 4-letter county abbreviation.
2. Stations outside of California send QSO number and 2-letter State, Canadian province/territory, or DX.

QSO number = contact serial number starting with 1 for the first contact, progressing to 2 for the next contact, and so on. It is unnecessary to send leading zeros in the QSO number.

The net features a Mystery Question, the ARRL Report, Satellite Report, DX Report, and other activities. Operators are encouraged to talk about their recent operating or other ham activities.

The Loss of an SFARC Friend

It’s with great sadness that we share the news of another SK. Bill Silva aka. “Colusa Bill” (KA6FKK) passed away on September 20th due to complications from a stroke.

From dialing around 40M and landing on that BIG voice to hearing him participate on nearly all of our nets including the Coffee Break, Given the distance, and being the sole caretaker of his mom, it was hard for Bill to attend many events but he did make a special trip to Hamfest last March to meet Brian and Smitty; it was great to put a face with the voice. 🙂

Bill’s voice, laugh, and calm demeanor will certainly be missed. As we learn more about his celebration of life, we’ll make sure to share it here.

Whether you’re a seasoned contester or new to this exciting side of amateur radio, join us for an informative time. Clyde (AB4CC) will be giving us a presentation all about antennas. Whether you’re unsure of which one to buy, setting out to build your own, or want to increase the performance of what you already have, this is a talk you don’t want to miss!
