We all enjoy a hobby backed by science and theory however sometimes we’re touched by events that can’t be quantified and just don’t make any sense. With permission from the family, I’d like to ask for your help in supporting Amir (N6ADL) and Michelle Larian. For those new to the club, Amir has been a member of SFARC for some time and was our previous webmaster.
Amir and Michelle Larian welcomed their second daughter, Zahra June, into this world on August ninth, 2024. Zahra was born with an extremely rare neurological disease that severely limited her time with Amir and Michelle. Donations will go towards medical bills and any other expenses that arise during this time, while Michelle & Amir are both on leave from work for an extended amount of time. Anything you can do to help is appreciated.

Special Presentation
On a special “In The Shack” session for October, SFARC invites Kristen McIntyre (K6WX) for a presentation on all things having to do with grounding.
Kristen will talk about DC grounds, RF grounds, and even about gravity! All are welcome to attend, and a Q&A session will follow.

Next VE Exam Date – September 9, 2024
Looking for a local location to take your amateur radio license or upgrade exam? Sierra Foothills VE Team provides in-person exam sessions on the 1st Monday evening of the month.
Scholarships are available for new hams, who are under 21 years old and enrolled in an 
education program. The scholarship reimburses the cost of your exam and provides a study guide for the next license level.
