For those traveling to Stampede Reservoir this weekend, we recommend visiting the Campout Resource Center.

Directions:
From Truckee, travel east on Interstate 80 for 10 miles to the Hirschdale Road exit. Follow Hirschdale Road/Stampede Dam Road north for eight miles to the Stampede Reservoir. Take a left on Dog Valley Road to go over Stampede Dam. Go past Emigrant Group Campground, and in a quarter mile, the campground will be on the right.

DO NOT TAKE THE HOBART MILLS TO DOG VALLEY ROAD ROUTE. DO NOT USE THIS ALTERNATE ROUTE IF YOU HAVE AN RV OR VEHICLE WITH LOW CLEARANCE.

July 2025 Meeting

Our next club meeting will take place on July 11 at 7:30 PM at the Confluence Church Gym in Auburn, California and on Zoom at zoom.w6ek.org. Jeff (AK6OK) will show the club how to make use of lab-grade test instrumentation to help with antenna design, complete with live demonstrations and hands-on experimentation. Scott (KM6RFB) has made some major upgrades to the Placer County ARES website, and he’ll present to us all the new features and information that can be found there.

Watts Up This Week

Hey SFARC Members and Friends, It’s a quiet pre Field Day week with a few callouts.
1. The RSVP deadline for Field Day is THIS Saturday (06/21). You can still come and visit without an RSVP but if you plan to eat any meals with us, this is the last call. 2. The final Field Day planning meeting is next Tuesday (6/24) @ 7PM in the club Zoom room. That’s it! 🙂 _ ___ _ ___ _ ___

Watts Up This Week (Early Edition)

Hey SFARC Members and Guests,
We’ll keep this short and sweet this week. With less than two weeks before RSVPs close for Field Day, the sooner you let us know you’re coming, the easier it is for us meal planning. If you’re coming to Field Day, even for a day, PLEASE RSVP ASAP @ www.w6ek.org/fieldday/rsvp <-- In full transparency, our numbers are low for what we anticipated. ANTENNA/STATION PLANNING We've got an Antenna Planning Meeting coming up tomorrow night @ 7PM (Monday, June 9th) in the club Zoom room. STATION/SHIFT SIGN UPS We've received a few questions about station sign ups. We'll be launching sign ups soon once we complete the antenna planning meeting and have a good sense of what stations we'll have setup. SHIRTS AND MERCH Shirts, coffee mugs and a bunch of fun merch can be found @ www.w6ek.org/merch Standard shipping lead time is June 14-17 so you’ll want to get on this soon or you might have to pay for expensive shipping if you want to get your stuff by Field Day.

Congratulations New Hams

Let’s give it up to the 9 people who got a new ham license at Monday’s SFARC VE session. Congratulations to Lane Albright, Thomas Alling, Isaac Chan, Ethan Crow, Michael Kryss, Jackson Rhinehart, Taylor Thompson, and Jonathan Wenk; all getting their Technician license. And a double congrats to Quinten Williams, who took his tech and general back to back and passed them both with flying colors. Congratulations new hams from SFARC.

Watts Up This Week

Field Day is approaching fast and the deadline for RSVPs is approaching fast. Even if you think we know you’re coming, please head out to www.w6ek.org/fieldday and RSVP now before you forget. The next planning meeting is tomorrow (Wednesday) at 6PM in the club Zoom room.

September may be a few months away but space in the “Basecamp Loop” is running short. To be clear, there is still plenty of space at the adjoining loop and beyond. If you want to be close though, don’t delay and reserve your campsite TODAY! www.w6ek.org/activities/campout
Once you reserve it, let us know. If you’ve reserved one of the sites below in RED, please let us know.

Field Day T-Shirt Update

Hey SFARC Members and Friends,
Apologies for the extra email this weekend. The promo code previously mentioned for t-shirts expired yesterday. However, we have a new promo code in place that will save you 25% off your entire order (including anything you see in the new merch shop).
If you plan to get a Field Day shirt and you waited… you just saved a little extra cash.
