SEPTEMBER FOX HUNTS UPDATE — HUNTS? The first Fox Hunt will be Saturday, 9/20 at a special location; Stampede Reservoir off of Interstate 80, just east of Truckee CA. This Fox Hunt is scheduled to coordinate with the SFARC annual campout. The Fox Hunt will start with a pre-meeting at the camp host’s (base camp site, Site 228) starting after the morning breakfast, usually no earlier than about 10 AM. If you are not planning to camp, then consider coming up for the breakfast (don’t forget to RSVP), stay for the day joining the Fox Hunt later in the morning, enjoy all the afternoon fun events, and then savor the Saturday night dinner (again, please don’t forget to RSVP). Stampede is actually a reasonable drive from most Sacramento areas…less than two hours with normal traffic.
The second Fox Hunt opportunity will be on the last Saturday of the month, September 27. Thank you Frank (KG9M)for volunteering to be the Fox Tender for this Fox Hunt. Regular pre-meeting time of 9 AM directly following the monthly club breakfast in the parking lot of Wings following the SFARC monthly breakfast.

SFARC CLUB MEETING THIS FRIDAY (08/08/2025) @ 7:30P (1930) | IN PERSON AND ON ZOOM Zoom: www.w6ek.org/activities/meetings/jointhemeeting In Person: www.w6ek.org/activities/meetings
Bob (KD6QVD) will show us several of his tactical radio setups, focusing on goal-oriented approaches to engineering and design. Many of us aspire to put together go-boxes and easy to deploy communications systems, but along the way things often end up more complex than they need to be. Come join us as Bob explains what goes into his builds and how easy they are to operate, both as an individual and a team. If you’ve ever been interested in top-spec portable operations, this is one presentation you won’t want to miss out on!
