ARRL World Amateur Radio Day is April 18, commemorating the founding of the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) in 1925.
On World Amateur Radio Day, all radio amateurs are invited to take to the airwaves to enjoy our global friendship with other amateurs, and to show our skills and capabilities to the public. For more information, visit http://www.arrl.org/world-amateur-radio-day.
We’ve got another great presentation set up for the next club meeting on Friday, April 14th @ 7:30 PM.
Our main presentation will be by Jeff Hilliard (AK6OK). Jeff is a member of the Northern California Emergency Network, President and CEO of Compudigital in Rocklin California, holds numerous patents covering a variety of technologies, and has been instrumental in the design and implementation of the K6IOK repeater system that includes several local repeaters. Jeff is going to give us the background and an overview of what it took to design and build this state-of-the-art complex at an elevation of 1300 feet. This will be another do-not-miss presentation.

HAMS IN THE HILLS IS BACK WITH ANOTHER “SNOW ADVENTURE”
The objective is to explore the trails at McKinstry Peak and McKinstry Lake area. However, there is likely to be a fair amount of snow remaining in this area as well as on the roads leading to this area. In that case, we will be doing some snow wheeling and going where we can until the lead vehicle gets stuck.
