Are tents allowed?
YES. Tent and RV camping is perfectly fine.
Is there access to hook-ups?
NO. This is dry camping with access to restrooms, trash collection, and shared water bibs. There is a central dump station available at check-out.
Are there restrooms?
YES. ADA accessible restrooms are available on each loop.
Can I bring my pet?
YES. 2 dogs maximum per site. Dogs shall always be kept on leash no longer than six feet or otherwise confined. Violation notices WILL be issued for non-compliance.
How do meals work?
Breakfast and dinner are usually shared. Once you RSVP, information will be shared with you regarding meal plans. For lunch, you’re on your own. Like any SFARC, we’ll have a fully stocked snack table.
Do I need to book a campsite in the same loop as the club?
NO. The club Basecamp will be at site 227 in the Double Bit loop (210-252). Meals and other activities will be announced on a simplex frequency so spread out if you wish.
Is there mobile phone service?
NO. Although a few carriers have patches of coverage around the lake. The club will offer Internet access and WiFi calling from Site 227 and the surrounding area.
Can I run a generator?
YES. Generators are allowed. Be prepared for some noise from other campers using generators. The use of generators is only permitted between the hours of 8 AM and 8 PM in all California State Parks.
Are campfires allowed?
MAYBE. If allowed by the California State Park system, we’ll have a central campfire at basecamp each night. Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed.
