Perhaps nothing says Amateur Radio louder than ARRL Field Day. Whether on a hilltop overlooking a national monument in Wyoming, enjoying the view of the Pacific from the Hawaiian coast, spraying for mosquitoes in the humid Carolinas, enjoying the annual covered dish supper in Iowa, or simply trying to stay cool along the Gulf Coast, you are part of the splendid heritage that dates back to1933. While Field Day is a once a year event, Amateur Radio can be a year round, 365 and 24/7 enjoyment in your life. It is more than an 8 hour shift at an EOC or the quest of DXCC and contest awards. For many, Field Day becomes the zenith of our shared experience. It is where our friendships come together with our families to create unique shared memories. Statistics show that over 1.4 million contacts will be made during this weekend. So remember, it is not the number of contacts you log. The quality of the experience makes Field Day 2012 a lasting memory. Have fun and enjoy the day. 73 NNNN
